HRD ministry launches 2nd edition of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
The HRD ministry launched the second edition of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan under which students from 750 higher educational institutions from across the country will adopt villages and visit them to get acquainted with lifestyle of people there and the problems faced by them.
IIT Delhi has been designated to function as the national coordinating institute for this programme.

Technology giant Microsoft India has been declared the most attractive employer brand, followed by e-commerce giant Amazon India. The winners were named by HR service provider Randstad’s Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2018.

Kerala CM launched Pravasi Pension Scheme
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched Pravasi pension scheme.
The scheme gives those hailing from Kerala but living outside the state or country, a pension of Rs. 2,000 a month. People over the age of 60 years are eligible for the pension.
To avail the scheme, one needs to pay Rs. 100 every month. They should enroll in the scheme launched by Kerala Pravasi Pension Board. The contribution would be for five year

Singapore Airlines to launch world’s longest non-stop flight
Singapore Airlines is set to launch the world’s first non-stop flight with almost 20 hours in the air, by the end of this year.
Singapore Airlines’ newest plane, the Airbus A350-900ULR — for Ultra Long-Range — will travel on a record-breaking, globe-spanning flight that will connect Singapore to New York.
World Press Freedom Index- India 138th Top- Norway
In 2018 World Press Freedom Index rankings, India stands at 138, one place above Pakistan. Norway tops the chart, while North Korea has the worst press freedom in the world.

Indo-Malaysian Joint Military Exercise ‘Harimau Shakti’ to be held
The Indian and Malaysian armies will hold a two-week military exercise beginning April 30 in Malaysia as part of efforts to bolster defence cooperation.
The joint exercise ‘Harimau Shakti’ will take place in the dense forests of Sengai Perdik in Hulu Langat district of Malaysia.
Coastal Security Exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ Held In Kerala
Exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ is being conducted to strengthen and assess the loopholes in the coastal security mechanism along Kerala shores. Along with Coastal Police and Marine Enforcement wing, Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy is also participating in Exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’.

All 104 ICC member countries to get T20I status
All 104 International Cricket Council (ICC) member countries will be granted T20I status. Currently, only the 18 member countries are eligible to play T20Is. All Women’s team matches will be awarded T20 International status on July 1, 2018. All the men’s team matches will be given T20 International status on January 1, 2019. ICC CEO- David Richardson.

The swearing-in-ceremony of newly appointed Supreme Court judge, Indu Malhotra will be held on Friday morning, at the apex court.
Senior advocate Indu Malhotra is the first woman lawyer to be elevated directly from the Bar to the Supreme Court.
